in training)
If
you want intensive make-up training, THE BIG PICTURE covers the diverse nature
of the art of make-up. We study many techniques and theories, gaining a broad
and imaginative approach to the craft. We then explore ways in which
you can adapt your new skills to the medium you are working
in - stage, TV, film. There is also a strong emphasis on character make-up in
this class, the backbone of film and television drama work. This
course helps you ‘loosen up’ and explore, and helps to expand your
individual style. ALL STUDENTS enrolled in this class must attend the 'Theatre Make-up' Elective
starting Monday 15th February (at no extra charge)

THIS COURSE WILL FEATURE THE FOLLOWING COMPONENTS; - Product knowledge and skin care - Hygiene, application techniques, working procedures - Anatomy, including anatomy of the ageing process - Skin - its qualities as a canvas - Colour in light - Colour theory (pigment and dyes) - Partitive colour mixing - Skin coloration for ageing / character - Chiaroscuro (light and shade) - 2-D art & design - Character analysis and physiognomy - Different mediums (stage through to screen) - Ageing in stages (including various textural effects) - Hair and facial hair (for ageing and character work) - Body make-up, teeth and nails (for ageing and character work) - Environmental influences
